Children have the tendency to leave their toys anywhere be it on the stairs, the living room, the dining room and even the comfort room. With this, you might find yourself constantly following them and picking their toys. Though you can always do this, it would be best if you teach them to clean up after they play and to put their toys on specific containers. Here are some storage suggestions for the educational toys you have collected over the years.

1. Shelf. If you want your child to learn to clean up after playing, you can always teach him to place his toys on the shelf after he plays with it. If you use the shelf as a storage space, make sure that it is short enough for your child to reach it. If you are worried about the capacity, you can always make it wider so it can accommodate more without increasing its height. A wall mounted shelf is safer as compared to those free standing ones because you are sure it won't fall over your child whenever he tries to climb it.

2. Closets and cabinets. If you don't want the toys to gather dust, you can always place them inside closets or cabinets because these usually have a door or are enclosed. You can place the toys your child has outgrown inside the closet or the cabinet because he or she may or may not play with it.

3. Boxes or baskets. You can also place your child's toys inside boxes or baskets that are beautifully decorated. Placing their toys here is easier for them because they can simply look for their toys without having to climb on anything. Toys that are placed in baskets are usually those toys that are made of cloth or are stuffed examples of which are stuffed toys, stuffed balls, stuffed blocks and other toys too small to be placed on the closet or shelf.

4. Drawers. Toy laptops and magnetic sketch pads can be placed inside your child's drawer simply because it is flat and can easily slide in and out of the drawer. Drawers can either be on the night stand or incorporated in your child's bed frame. Other minute educational toys can also be placed here. The drawer can serve as an alternative storage space in cases wherein you don't have boxes and baskets and you find shelves and closets too much.

5. Extra room. If your children have climbing sets, toy kitchen sets, toy dressers and a dollhouse then you might need an extra room to store all those. Educational toys that take up space cannot obviously fit into shelves or closets so having an extra room is the best way to store them. This extra room can also serve as the learning room where your children can play with their educational toys and at the same time learn. They will not only enjoy playing with it but you are also saved from the task of cleaning their clutter.

Storing your children's educational toys will certainly keep them in tip top shape. It is best to keep these toys especially when you still have plans of having another child.
