Three Simple Games To Break The Ice

Have you ever had a children's party that could have been better if only there were games? When parties start, they usually don't build up until later. Many children are shy and won't want to socialize at first. But with a few games that will help break the ice, you can turn your party into a celebration to remember. Just prepare some simple games that will get all the children rearing to play and you should end up with one of the best parties in your neighborhood. Here are a few games that you can consider having children play, and a few rules about how they are played.

• Cheeky Cheeky – This is a game that requires a few children that are good sports. You have to be careful with this one because some children will cry if they play this game, but not because they will be physically hurt. What it involves is children standing in a line. They should all be instructed not to move. You can make as many lines as you want depending on how many children will be playing. Now, you should have some lipstick in your pocket. Give a couple more children in the line some lipstick as well but do not let any of the other children know. The object of the game is that you should do something to the childe next to you like pinch his cheek or nose. That child must do the same to the next child and the next child to the child standing next to him or her, etc. Once you start the game, dab your finger in the lipstick in your pocket and touch the child next to you. That child won't know he or she has lipstick on until the end of the game and everyone should be laughing at the end, ready for more games to play at the party!

• HaHa – This game is really simple and easy to play. Just have children split into even numbered teams. Then they should all lie down in a circle, their heads all touching together and all of them looking up. The first child will scream “Ha!” and the next child should say “HaHa!” the third child should say “HaHaHa!” and so on. The first child to break this chain of “Ha's!” will be out of the game and this is a great way to have the children laughing about something that is almost completely senseless to begin with!

• Gum Painting – You need a pack of colored gum, some toothpicks, and some index cards to play this game. Give each child some gum, a toothpick, and an index card. Give them some time to chew the gum and then have them stick the gum on the paper. With nothing but the toothpick, instruct the children to “draw” something with the gum on the index card. They can poke and twist it in all the creative ways they can. In the end, pick a winner and this should be a good ice-breaker and a good start to introducing more party games.
